Part of the Ordinary People Change the World series, this biography focuses on the ubiquitous and inspiring Oprah Winfrey。 Although the book covers her formative years and her early challenges including poverty, the author carefully acknowledges the support she found in her grandmother and fourth grade teacher as well as how she somehow managed to find the light even during her dark moments。 An avid reader, Oprah also gained confidence from public speaking, eventually becoming a broadcaster。 But Part of the Ordinary People Change the World series, this biography focuses on the ubiquitous and inspiring Oprah Winfrey。 Although the book covers her formative years and her early challenges including poverty, the author carefully acknowledges the support she found in her grandmother and fourth grade teacher as well as how she somehow managed to find the light even during her dark moments。 An avid reader, Oprah also gained confidence from public speaking, eventually becoming a broadcaster。 But she empathized too strongly with some of the individuals whose stories were being told and lost her job due to those connections。 But sometimes good things come from disappointments, and she landed a spot as a talk show host where her ability to understand others and their pain made her show relatable。 Oprah's eventual empire was born there, and she branched out into many directions, always trying to be true to herself and being willing to extend a hand to those in need。 A double-page spread shows the many ways she's given back to others。 Clearly, she is using her wealth to make the world a better place。 The digital artwork relies on comic book effects to tell Oprah's larger-than-life story, and the back matter contains photographs and a timeline。 Young readers could do a lot worse than living their lives like Oprah has, being true to herself。 Readers will surely finish this book shaking their heads in amazement at this marvelously generous entrepreneur。 。。。more

Very excited to share this。 It was very important to show my own daughter (and sons) a successful, strong businesswoman。
